Tips on Keeping Your Home Clean During a Window Replacement

One of the best things about a window replacement project is that it’s far less messier than other kinds of home improvements. However, it’s not entirely mess-free, but there are some things that you can do to keep your home clean.

Keep Drop Cloths Away From Paths

Installing drop cloths is common practice for most kinds of home improvements as it helps protect furniture and other objects from dents and scratches. However, they should not be used along areas where the installers are supposed to go because they can cause someone to slip, which can lead to property damage or, worse, injuries. Fortunately, you won’t have to worry about this when you work with our installers – we will make sure that your things are kept safe while maintaining safety practices.

Cover Your Appliances and Other Items

During installation, some dust and debris will inadvertently get shaken loose as the old windows are removed. If some of your belongings require extra protection against dust – electronics, antiques or vinyl records – don’t take a chance, and make sure to cover them with dust covers or plastic sheets before the window installation date. Alternatively, you can pack your things and put them away from the work areas until the project is completed.

Work With Your Window Installer

The best way to keep window replacement mess to a minimum is to talk to your replacement window installers. Let them know about your concerns regarding keeping the work areas clean and protecting your things. Our installers will be happy to keep track of your requirements and help you with the preparation. We will also walk you through the process and make sure that there will be no unwanted surprises. Once your new windows are up, we’ll even do you one better and clean up thoroughly.
