Embrace the Winter Season With These Centerpiece Ideas

It’s time to say goodbye to the gourds and pumpkin-spice candles on your dining room table. ‘Tis the season for creating a winter wonderland, complete with holly berries, pine sprays and cinnamon sticks.

If you’re struggling for décor ideas to carry you through the most wonderful time of the year, here are a few centerpieces to get you started. Crank up the holiday tunes, heat up a mug of hot cocoa and channel your inner Martha Stewart to amp up the wow factor before your guests arrive.

Bring the Outdoors In

One of the easiest ways to dial up the Christmas spirit in your space is to add a little greenery. Bundle up and head outside with a pair of pruners to attack your nearest pine tree. Mix boughs of an Eastern White Pine with branches from the bottom of the Scotch Pine in the corner of the living room.

Arrange branches and boughs along the length of the table to create a tablescape. Run a strand of battery-operated white lights along the length of the greenery for added ambiance.

You can also complete the look with pinecones or glittery Christmas bulbs. Feeling crafty? Dust the tablescape with laundry soap flakes or instant potato flakes to capture the look of freshly-fallen snow.

Berry Good

Cranberries aren’t just for making into canned gel to serve alongside turkey. Make use of the fruit that is abundant in your produce aisle this time of year. Fill glass cylinders of varying heights with water and cranberries. You can then float tea lights to add a touch of warmth to your table.

Try hiding unsightly stems in a floral arrangement with cranberries. Just add the berries to your container before adding flowers and greenery. The end result will be a florist-worthy centerpiece of fresh flowers.

Break Out the Nativity

Whoever said the nativity had to go under the tree? Put your family heirloom piece front and center. Or purchase a unique set made of bee’s wax or wood to add a rustic flair to your table.
